Bignose and beardy

Bignose and Beardy make cider the old way. Like generations of Sussex folk before, they use the apples available to them locally, gathering unwanted fruit, pressing it, then allowing it to wild-ferment. The ciders mature slowly, allowing all sorts of interesting flavours to develop—something only time can produce. The ciders are unfiltered, unpasteurised, and uncarbonated. The results are fresh, crisp, acid-led ciders packed with complexity and flavour. They make small batches by hand and celebrate each one for its unique characteristics.

Over the years, they've built a community of helpers, apple swappers (apples for cider), collaborators, fans, and friends. In addition to making cider, they run events: tours, tap nights, picking days, and a winter wassail. They proudly declare, 'we planted an orchard and grew a community.' They also make apple cider vinegar, not always deliberately! It's amazing—packed with flavour after years of maturing. Plus, you have to try their Spirit of Cider—double distilled from their cider to produce their answer to calvados.

Bignose and Beardy are all about discovering what real cider really can be. Explore their website below to shop and discover seasonal events.
