Starcroft Farm Cabins
A place to rest, write and be inspired.
Starcroft Farm Cabins are historically-themed eco cabins in a peaceful meadow in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Each of the three stargazing cabins is a unique creative space, adorned with specially commissioned art, a curated bookshelf and vintage curios, plus a fold-out desk with a meadow view. Located in the heart of 1066 Country, close to the site of the Battle of Hastings, they each offer an alternative, contemporary take on Sussex history and legend. They look beyond the big battle to illuminate lesser known stories and local characters, and to reimagine everyday experiences of this landscape through the ages. Each cabin is named after a prominent woman connected to the land during three pivotal eras - Medieval, Victorian and 1920s. Their Medieval cabin, for instance, is called Matilda, after William the Conqueror’s powerful wife, and celebrates woodland folklore, physic gardens and the magic and mystery of the natural world. Founders Hannah and Tom’s love for Sussex extends to the wonderful artists, artisans and suppliers they work with, with guests treated to luxury toiletries by Rye-based Wide Eye and Booyah Kombucha made in Hastings.
