A Walk Around Steyning

We went for a leisurely stroll through the picturesque streets of Steyning, an old market town nestled in the heart of West Sussex. Steeped in history and surrounded by stunning natural beauty, Steyning has managed to retain its timeless appeal while offering a blend of old-world charm and modern amenities. Join us on this journey as we explore a few hidden spots and the unique character that defines this town.

First up, Cobblestone Walk…

Cobblestone Walk, nestled at the heart of Steyning next to the Clock Tower and opposite the car park, is a place filled with character and charm. This unique shopping village, proudly independent, has been enchanting visitors for the past two decades. However, its roots go deeper, as it was once home to the village bakery and Steyning Tea House, housed in the charming timbered cottage that now hosts The Cobblestone Tea House.

Our next discovery on our journey through Cobblestone Walk brought us to Lydia Mae's shop, filled with unique treasures, from charming eco greeting cards to art prints and ceramic decorations that ignite the imagination. What sets this shop apart is the individualism of its pieces, often featuring tiny figures on grand adventures. Step inside Lydia Mae's and you'll find a world where each creation tells a captivating story.

Among the places we explored, we also visited Steyning Antiques on the high street. Steyning Antiques is a haven for collectors and nostalgia enthusiasts alike, offering a carefully curated selection of pieces that span the ages. From antique furniture to vintage jewellery, there's something to pique the interest of every visitor.

Adding a modern and unexpected flair to Steyning's landscape, Slipped Discs, the vinyl shop, stands as a testament to the town's diverse offerings. In the heart of this market town, Slipped Discs welcomes music enthusiasts and collectors with a unique and captivating selection of vinyl records.

Here we've uncovered a glimpse of what Steyning has to offer, with its charming boutiques and picturesque streets. Beyond the cobblestone paths and cosy tearooms, the town also serves as a gateway to the scenic South Downs walking routes. Additionally, a short journey takes you to the Wiston Winery Estate. Steyning's allure and hidden gems ensure there's always more to explore in this delightful West Sussex market town.
