Silly Moo Cider
Silly Moo Cider is an unusually civilised farmhouse cider made on a family-run farm in Cowfold, West Sussex. Rachel & her dad Andrew grow cider apples on their 4-acre orchard and blend these with eating apples they get from their annual apple swap & from farms in Sussex & Somerset. The apples are hand picked and laboriously squeezed in a traditional rack & cloth press for excellent juice extraction. The juice is left to slowly ferment over 6 months with the wild yeasts found on the apple skins, before blending with more fresh juice and packaging in bottle, can, keg or bag in box and delivered to your local watering hole or restaurant. Juicy, hazy & very moorish, with a refreshing acidic bite and light sparkle, Silly Moo Cider is a delicious celebration of apples. And that’s not all - the name comes from their herd of Sussex Wagyu cattle who jostle over to eat the apple pomace after pressing each autumn.
visit their cider tap every saturday at the farm.
