Artelium
Artelium is a contemporary English wine estate celebrating exceptional English wine and art.
It is the long-held vision of husband-and-wife owners Mark Collins and Julie Bretland to bring people together to enjoy wine and art in the beautiful Sussex landscape. The name, Artelium, reflects this: it's a combination of ‘Art’ and ‘- ium’, a Latin suffix used to denote places where people congregate.
Their range of still and sparkling vintage wines embody the innovative spirit of modern English winemaking. Each vintage is seen as an opportunity to be innovative and develop pioneering styles of wine. They achieve this by giving winemakers the tools and freedom to express themselves through unique and characterful wines.
Their home in Streat, near Ditchling, is open Thursday to Sundays for Tours, Tastings, long lunches and other delightful happenings. The estate is accessible by train, less than a 30-minute walk across the fields from Plumpton Station.
